Earn commissions in the form of cash simply by referring your customers to this website. It’s an easy, automatic way we help our local independent business partners like you thrive. That’s why we call it HELLA AWESOME.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When consumers enter cultandking.com through your unique referral link and make a purchase within 90 days of clicking that link, their email address and purchase are linked to your wholesale account.  If you have your HELLA AWESOME email notifications set to “on,” you will receive an immediate email notification saying that you have received a HELLA AWESOME commission added to your account instantly when they make a purchase. We payout monthly via ACH transfer to the bank account or debit card you’ve designated for payment.

HOW IS THE REFERRAL COMMISSION CALCULATED?

The commission is 25% of the total purchase (not including shipping or sales tax) of any and all retail product(s) or tool(s), including Minis.  Wholesale SKU purchases are not eligible for commission.

WHAT IF I JUST TELL MY CUSTOMERS ABOUT IT, BUT THEY DON’T REMEMBER  MY UNIQUE LINK?

If a shopper mentions a wholesale account in order notes, we will always manually award the commission for the sale to the named wholesale account, and we will also add that customer’s email address to the wholesale account’s lifetime customer list for future purchases.  This manual process generally takes us about 24 to 48 hours after the sale. You will receive an email notification when it is awarded. Customers should be as specific as possible when naming the wholesale account to refer, including city and stylist’s name (if applicable), so we can be sure to match the sale up to the correct wholesale account.

IS THERE ANY PLACE ON THE WEBSITE WHERE CUSTOMERS CAN LOOK UP MY UNIQUE LINK?

All wholesale accounts that have made a single wholesale product purchase of $250 or more in the last six months are listed on the VISIONARIES (Find a Local Retailer) Page.  At the end of each listing is a link that says “referred by.”  Clicking that link puts a cookie in the web browser that awards a subsequent sale to the affiliate link clicked.  (If someone clicks 5 different links, the sale will be awarded the last click prior to the sale, so don’t click your salon first and then click a bunch of other links after that, or your sale will be linked to the wrong salon.)

I SAW ANOTHER SALON HAD PRINTED CARDS WITH THEIR HELLA AWESOME LINK PRINTED ON THEM.  WHERE CAN I GET THOSE?

Yes, custom printed cards with both unique link and QR code are for sale on the web site. 500 custom printed cards for $40.   Disrupter and Rabble Rouser level wholesale accounts receive their first set for free upon placing a qualifying order.

WHAT HAPPENS THE NEXT TIME MY CUSTOMER COMES TO THE SITE?  

After the first purchase, the customer is linked to your wholesale account for a “lifetime.”  That means they will be connected to your account virtually forever. You can see a list of your “Lifetime Customers” in your Wholesale Dashboard.  The connection is via their email address, so if they make a future purchase using a different email address, that customer and that purchase would not be connected to your account.  Also if they were to for some reason click a different “referred by” button on the VISIONARY page, it might transfer their connection to the different wholesale account.

WILL CUSTOMERS BE ABLE TO SEE THE NAME OF MY SALON DURING THEIR TRANSACTIONS?

Yes, your name will appear at the bottom of the shopping cart page, the bottom of the checkout page, and the bottom of the receipt.  

DOES A CUSTOMER HAVE TO CREATE A USER ACCOUNT ON CULTANDKING.COM IN ORDER TO BE A LIFETIME CUSTOMER, OR CAN THEY CHECK OUT AS A GUEST?  

No, they don’t have to create a user account.  Lifetime Customers will either connect via user id (if they have created an account) or if they don’t have an account it will use their email address instead. For customers without an account, they’ll need to use the same email address on every future order, so that the system can find them and award the commission. That said, creating a user account tied to your store is the most assured way for lifetime customers to be recognized and rewarded by the software.

HOW CAN I USE THE URL GENERATOR TO MAKE UNIQUE LINKS FOR MY STAFF?

The URL Generator below allows you to create special links within your affiliate account to help you track specific campaigns, activities or users. By default, it will generate a link to the home page of cultandking.com.  Some things you can do with this tool are:

• Create special links for each of your communication channels to see where your referrals are coming from.  You might create a special “Campaign” for your website, and post that link on your website.  Another one for Linktree, and post that link there.  Another for YouTube, and post that link there.
• Create special links to other pages or products on the cultandking.com website besides the homepage.  For instance, you could create a link directly to the TONIK page, or any page on cultandking.com that you want to bring your customer(s) to directly so they don’t have to try to find the product you are pointing them to.
• Create unique links for your employees or stylists with their name in the link, like TiffanySmith. Once you have generated the link (which will be your main affiliate link with an addendum that includes the campaign name), you can give that link to each stylist for them to distribute.  You will be able through this portal to see all visits and referrals generated by these links.  As the owner of the main affiliate account, you will be able to share information and rewards based on your current product purchase incentive program with your team.

CAN I CHANGE MY UNIQUE LINK, AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT IS CHANGED?

Your affiliate account can only have one main link at any time. Your QR code is based on your one main link. Your link is created by our on-boarding team when your wholesale account is set up. We will be happy to change the custom slug on your unique link at any time upon your request. It’s important to note that the instant your link is changed, any old links will no longer work, so they should be changed on your website, linktree, etc. as soon as possible. All “campaign” links that you have generated will also no longer work, and will need to be re-created in the URL Generator tool. Changing your link has no impact on the rest of the assets in your wholesale account, including your past referrals, lifetime customers, balance, etc.

WILL MY HELLA AWESOME COMMISSIONS EXPIRE?

They will not expire as long as your wholesale account is open and in good standing.  But we can’t transfer the money into your account until you enter your banking or debit card into the system.  If your wholesale account is closed for any reason with unpaid commissions in your account, we will make every effort to reach out to you, but you will forfeit any unpaid HELLA AWESOME commissions.

Because we are sick of the little guy getting shafted by the big conglomerates who count on local partners like you to pioneer their brands and then walk away with all the direct-to-retail e-commerce profits. We are cutting our direct-to-retail profit margins to share them with our indie, local retailers like you because it’s the right thing to do.
