YOUR GUIDE TO USING CREAMPOP
1. Wet hair thoroughly with warm water, then squeeze out excess water.
Brush or comb your hair before showering to detangle.
2. Apply CREAMPOP to hair, roots, and scalp.
How much to use? We measure CREAMPOP in pumps from the bottle. One pump is roughly nickel-sized. Everyone uses a different number of pumps depending on their hair type and length. Many people with short or fine hair use 1-2 pumps of product per wash. Some people with longer, thicker, or coarser hair use as many as 6-8 pumps per wash. Start with a little; you can always add more! CREAMPOP is super concentrated, so when in doubt, use less!
A key to helping use less: apply it more accurately. Rub it between your hands first, then lightly spread your hands over your head and hair to get the product where you want it. (As opposed to putting a blob on your head, spreading it around, and then adding another blob, etc. the way people tend to apply shampoo.) Focus mostly on your scalp first, then work the product down through the ends of your hair. It will FEEL different than a regular conditioner; it won’t be a shellacked coating of thick product, but that doesn’t mean it’s not working! Many mainstream conditioners use silicones or other “natural” synthetics to gloss over the opened cuticle of wet hair and plug it up, leaving your hair feeling smooth under your hands. BUT that smoothness also means product residue, synthetic chemicals, hydral fatigued hair, etc. CREAMPOP won’t have that thick synthetic coating in the shower, but that’s actually good!
You need it at the roots to remove the oil. You need it at the ends to moisturize.
3. Massage the product through your scalp and hair.
Use the tips of your fingers or our silicone scalp scrubber to work the product, especially in the areas with the most dirt/oil/sweat buildup. Using the scalp scrubber in a circular motion can cause tangles in some hair; some users use it like a comb to avoid tangles.
Some people enjoy the deep tissue massage of the scalp scrubber but only apply as much or as little pressure as is comfortable for them.
Apply CREAMPOP first in the shower and rinse out last to give it maximum time for the best cleansing and softening results.
Some people like to add a little water at the end of this step and keep massaging CREAMPOP into their hair to loosen it up before rinsing.
4. Rinse super thoroughly with very warm water.
The rinsing part is where your hair actually gets clean. This is when the CREAMPOP, which has now attached itself to the dirt, oils, sweat, and dead skin cells on your scalp, is actually removed and takes all that yucky stuff with it.
A lot of times, when you picture rinsing, it may look like they show in the commercials, like standing under the cascade of water and letting it run over your head. For CREAMPOP, it helps to actually picture re-scrubbing all the same areas you initially applied the product under the flow of water. Many people use our silicone scalp scrubber brush even more during this stage. Really lift the hair up and away from the scalp, run your fingers or the scalp brush through all parts of it, and make sure the water flows through so it can truly dissolve all the product and wash away.
A note here because so many people have low-flow showers these days: If you can, adjust your shower’s water pressure. The higher the water pressure, the easier it is to get that product out! This is what mimics a salon bowl experience, which is high pressure applied right at the hair.
Also very warm water will help dissolve dirty hair oils to rinse out with the CREAMPOP.
5. You’re done. Towel dry and style.
We recommend applying CULT+KING TONIK or SUPERWATER to towel-dried hair after showering to rebalance the pH and seal the cuticle.
Also, after you use CREAMPOP, you may need to use less of your styling products because CREAMPOP acts as a pre-product. Any products you may use during styling for smoothing or ‘slip’ may require less because CREAMPOP will naturally add a ‘slip’ factor by creating naturally nourished, moisturized, smooth hair.
6. Considerations to keep in mind as you evaluate your CREAMPOP results.
If you routinely use styling products that leave your hair coated in silicone, CREAMPOP is not formulated to remove it. The silicone may stay on your hair and weigh it down, so you might not get the optimal bouncy, moisturized CREAMPOP clean. We recommend using traditional shampoo and CREAMPOP instead of conditioner for your first use. If you continue using silicone styling products, add shampoo to your CREAMPOP routine once every two weeks.
If your definition of clean hair means that your hair feels dry and devoid of all moisture and oils, remember that CREAMPOP replaces your dirt, greasy hair oil with clean, moisturizing oils. I’ve been using Creampop for over a year and absolutely love it now, but it took some time for me to get here. It was a real learning curve to figure out how much (or rather, how little) I needed and how thoroughly I had to rinse it all out. It’s unlike anything I’ve used before even though I was previously using New Wash, and it doesn’t really give the same tactile feedback I was used to—it was hard for me to tell when I’d fully rinsed the product out. Now that I’ve got it dialed, I’m never going back to the dumb shampoo cycle!
I have very long, dense, fine-textured hair and Creampop leaves it so soft and shiny. I only have to wash once every 5-7 days and I use so little it lasts forever—I am just now refilling after 13 months of continuous use! I also used to have dandruff and itchy scalp problems, but between Creampop and Tonik it’s completely gone. I’m knocking a star off because it still is sort of a pain in the ass to rinse out compared to New Wash, but I love knowing that I’m using a simpler product that’s better for my hair and scalp health. Plus, it smells divine!

Please never stop making this! Former Hairstory New Wash user and I love this so much more (vegan!) . The first iteration of this product didn’t work for me (too heavy), and I was glad C + K listened to feedback and reformulated… the result being this magical concoction. I’m dealing with hair damaged by an autoimmune disease, the result being that my hair is both fine and coarse, smooth in some areas, wavy in others, thin in parts, thick in others (pick a lane!). This cleans my hair and scalp so nicely without overstripping, and I feel like my hair is the best it could be (still a bit of a mess, but that’s not C + K’s fault).

I love cream pop and every other cult and king product I’ve tried. I recently treated myself to an appointment at a head spa, and she looked at my scalp with a magnifying probe (idk what that’s called), and showed me my scalp on a screen while saying “wow! Your scalp is sooo healthy!”
My fine to medium wavy hair loves all the products and is finally not weighed down or overly moisturized. It’s just balanced and clean.
I haven’t spent this much on hair products before but I do see now that these are worth it. I use less, wash my hair less, I’m not collecting useless empty bottles, or wandering around Ulta or Target which has always been a disappointing crap shoot of products.

I’ve dabbled in cowashing off and on for years, and I think this is my favorite. It allows me to go longer between wash days than other brands I’ve used and I like the texture of my naturally wavy hair after I use it.
The scent is very similar to a competitor’s product, geranium and lavender forward with a little mint. I wish it was more unique/similar to other cult+king product scents that I love.

this shampoo/conditioner is the best product I’ve ever tried. I have fashion colored hair- currently half pink half purple- and this shampoo DOES NOT strip the color AT ALL. Don’t believe me try it. You’ll never go back. You can wash your hair as often as you want and in the warmest water you want and you’ll get hardly any washout. I don’t need to do my hair as often now, if only I could slow my grow out.
I have greasy hair and this doesn’t weigh it down while moisturizing my scalp. I live in the 2nd driest state and it’s a struggle to have low humidity and a greasy head.
It doesn’t later at all but you’ll get used to it. Smell is odd but clean and isn’t over powering.

Common babe. I know you know what I’m talkin about. You’ve tried it all. You’ve realllllly tried with the all natural route. You’ve made impulsive regression buys of the really bad stuff, because you know it can get you results for a couple of weeks or you’re just plain exhausted of trying to figure it out… if that’s you, read on. I will tell you about my hair and my husband’s, he has completely different needs for his perfect hair care routine. This product works for both of us. Not to mention the absolutely insane glass bottle it comes in. It’s a work of art in your shower.
I have really fine hair, Irish curls). My husband has 2b hair.
Mine gets greasy quick, like two day, three days max.
Oh, and did I mention I live in the desert lol… i have literally been on the hunt all my life for something that can moisturize, clean and not weight down my ends. It is a little bit heavy for my scalp, so on days where it needs extra love, I use a little bit of a Dead Sea mineral bar and give it a good scrub. Cream pop in the ends. And boom. Gorgeous, silky, moisturized waves. I like my hair best after the ocean so this works great for me. Like I mentioned, it can be a little heavy. So it will take you a couple of tries to get it right. Rinse a lot. And most likely you need less than you think.
My husband has tight, Cuban curls, and this product works for him as well. He’s just needs way more than me, and twice a week he does a cleansing shampoo for his scalp.
This product is amazing. Please, please, seriously we’re all begging you, do not stop making this product lol!! Thank you so much for providing high quality, clean hair products that actually work, I never thought I’d find you :’)

I consider it a major coup that I got my stylist onto this company! She is now seriously considering carrying the C & K brand in her salon. The other day while I was there, she had a bottle of the Cream Pop she was anxious to try on a client. I had read about it and was anxious to try it for myself. ”I volunteer as tribute!” I was a devotee of another brand and was used to using a conditioning cleanser. I’m absolutely ALL-IN on the C & K Cream Pop! I bought a bottle for myself. With other conditioning cleansers I would have to swap back-and-forth between a regular shampoo and a conditioning cleanser. With Cream Pop, I can use it consistently without feeling like it’s building up on my hair. I have medium texture wavy hair. After using Cream Pop, I treat my hair to Tonik, Style Cream, a bit of gel, a short sesh w/ a blow dry diffuser to set my style and away I go! I am able to go three days between washes. And the feel of my hair is DIVINE! Soft, silky, shiny but still able to hold my precious S-waves! 5 stars aren’t enough!

This cleanser is recommended to me by my hairdresser. I have tried almost every co-wash or natural shampoo brand, and I always had to go back to my regular shampoo. I have mildly oily, medium to fine virgin hair with some curl and some of them make my hair immediately lifeless and flat. Others first feel good, then make my hair dry like a straw or they leave a residue. This is the first one I found that does not make my hair oily and flat immediately or feel like it’s not clean. So many bottles of shampoos went to trash before this. At first, I was very cautious with this too, because sometimes a cleanser first feels good and then in a couple of weeks you realize that it damaged your hair. I had given up trying natural or co-wash type cleansers/shampoos until I tried Creampop. My hair doesn’t get oily and it helps with the frizz. (I think it’s getting better by time) Just don’t use too much (it can feel weird at first like it’s not cleaning or not enough product etc) and like they recommend, rinse your hair really well. I also learned by experience that proteins/amino acids in almost every shampoo is not good for my hair. It is wonderful that you created a cleanser without bad ingredients, protein-free, silicon-free (don’t even let me talk about them :)), and gentle. Also the fragrance: I am very sensitive to fragrances, and I can’t tolerate the extremely strong fragrances of most shampoos. Just one request: yours have a natural fragrance thanks to essential oils but it can still be a bit strong for me, especially the peppermint oil. I would be so happy if you would consider creating an alternative without peppermint oil or fragrance-free. Lastly, when I got my package, the attention to detail was unbelievable and I share every principle with your company. (No animal testing, no amazon.com, all genders, good for the environment products etc) So thank you so much for this cleanser, it is wonderful and please do not change anything!

I tried out Creampop for a couple of months and I would say of all the cream cleansers I’ve used, when you find the right amount for your hair, it’s the closest to the way my hair felt with a traditional shampoo and conditioner; bouncy, shiny, and soft. Unlike that combo though, my scalp LOVED this product. It was balanced, clean and moisturized. It smells great and rinses out completely without coating your skin, so it was easy to follow instructions and put it on first and wash it out last. A couple of tips that customer service gave me that really helped were that a pump from the bottle is about the size of a nickel if you’re using the travel size tube, and to use a scalp brush to help rinse it out. I have a ton of fine, wavy to curly hair that tends to get oily, and I absolutely had to wash again by day three. Overall, I found it to be a great product from a company that really cares about their customers.

It took me a sec to find the right method for this sumptuous cream, but now that I know to use WAY less than expected, it has been a joy to use, and it produces some of my best hair days. What I love about Creampop and pretty much all of C+K’s products is that there are multiple uses for each. For instance, I use CP as a soap alternative and shave cream on top of it replacing shampoo, conditioner and Style (sorry!). So many less products to buy and manage. C+K offers me simplicity and a return to my wickedly delightful natural texture and wave pattern – with fewer products! Okay, yes! I’ve been wanting this product for a very long time. I’ve used co-wahes for years and seriously was about to try new wash (been putting that off for as long as possible) when this came out! I am so happy. I love cult & king – every product I have tried has been magical and customer service never lets me down. This product kinda had a learning curve and I wasn’t totally convinced about it, but after reaching out for help and FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS I am sold. I hope these products are never discontinued. I keep wanting to straighten my hair, but my curls air dry flawlessly after cleansing with creampop. Hair is a little tangled after getting out of the shower (fine, wavy/curly, lots of hair), but it’s getting better. Really use less than you think you need and really, really rinse. I’m a runner and wash almost daily after workouts and so far, so good. Also the bottle is beautiful, I’ve dropped it and the bumpers have prevented it from breaking in the shower. They thought of everything. I just really freaking love this company.

I gave Creampop one hell of a test run and it did not disappoint! I had DAYS of fever-sweat and oil on my head after a prolonged illness– what better time to try out Creampop?
