“Is it a direct replacement for CHARCOAL BLACK POMADE?”
Not exactly, but some users of the CHARCOAL BLACK POMADE will love it! For many users, the black color of CHARCOAL BLACK POMADE was a big part of why they loved it. MULTIVERSE is not black, but it does offer superior hold for structured styles.

As you may know, we are very particular about what ingredients we use in our products, and HOLD is something that is usually the result of various kinds of plastic-y, petroleum-y ingredients we won’t formulate with. JELLY: Soft Hold, Volume, and Mixability
JELLY has a soft, powdery hold that’s perfect for air dried waves, shags, or volume at the roots when blow-drying. It’s also a versatile cocktailing base. Mix JELLY with any of our Slip products, BALM, VEGAN BALM, or STYLE to create a custom blend with both hold and smoothing.
Use JELLY when:
- You want soft waves or curls with a gentle cast
- You’re air drying and want a light, touchable finish
- You’re blow-drying and want root lift without stiffness
- You like the flexibility of mixing products
- You want beachy texture without the dryness of sea salt sprays
MULTIVERSE: Curl Casting Cream, Blowout Cream, and Pomade in One
MULTIVERSE has a firmer gel like hold when it goes from wet to dry, making it ideal for curl casting. Expect a bit of crunch as it dries, exactly what you want when locking in curl shape. It’s pre-mixed and ready to go, though you can mix it (for example, with JELLY at the roots for max volume). But keep in mind, when used as a casting cream, mixing it with other C+K products will soften the cast. For the strongest cast use it on it’s own when applied to curls.
MULTIVERSE is incredibly versatile, hence the name. Thanks to its feather light oil and hold from inulin, it doubles as a blowout cream and even triples as a hybrid pomade.
The combo of conditioning and hold creates smooth hair blowouts with volume that hold their shape. A all in one for anyone who likes to change their texture day to day from curly to smooth.
There are conditioning properties in MULTIVERSE (Multiple Chain Trigylerides and Pea Peptides) but it feels incredibly light in the hair, so it’s suitable for all hair types.
Used as a hybrid Pomade, MULTIVERSE has the properties of a gel, cream and light-oil Pomade.
- Wet hair = gel pomade feel
- Dry hair = texture and separation
- All hair types and styles = from French bobs to pompadours
It’s also packed with pea peptides to condition as you style.
