CULT+KING® ALUMINUM CUTTING COMB
A metal comb that never melts and never breaks makes it just that much easier to say goodbye to throwaway culture. Buying cheap stuff and throwing it away feels terrible, doesn’t it? Rise above.
A word about comb care and Barbicide:
To preserve your comb when cleaning it in Barbicide, please follow manufacturer recommendations for solution strength (2 oz. of Barbicide for 32 oz. of water, or 6.25%) and contact time (10 minutes). Barbicide can be reactive to the metal finish on our combs. Honestly Barbicide and especially Barbicide Plus are very strong chemicals (DIMETHYL BENZYL AMMONIUM CHLORIDE) that will take the finish off anything if left in long enough. Also 6.25% is not a lot of Barbicide. If you follow the Barbicide instructions, your comb will enjoy a long life of use.
Combs with finish damaged by Barbicide are not subject to refund or replacement.
Information straight from the Barbicide website as of 11-3-23:
BARBICIDE® concentrate is mixed correctly by adding 2 oz (1/4 cup) concentrate to 32 oz (4 cups) of cold water. BARBICIDE® TB concentrate is mixed correctly by adding 1 oz (2 tbsp) of concentrate to 128 oz (1 gallon) of cold water. Note: BARBICIDE® TB should only be used in states where it is required.
BARBICIDE® will not harm your plastics or metals; however, it is not recommended that you leave items soaking for long periods of time. If you are using BARBICIDE® TB, you should only leave your items in the solution for the required 10 minutes and then remove promptly, as BARBICIDE® TB can damage plastics after prolonged contact.
BARBICIDE® in a spray bottle can be used for your shears. Like any disinfectant used on metals, spray until thoroughly wet, allow to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with clean water and dry completely with a paper or freshly washed towel. Never put metals away wet or allow them to sit in liquid longer than necessary.
Contact time refers to the length of time an implement or surface must stay moist with disinfectant to be effective against pathogens (bacteria, virus, fungus) listed on the label. For BARBICIDE® and BARBICIDE® TB, the contact time is 10 minutes of moist contact to be effective. For BARBICIDE® wipes, the contact time is 2 minutes (3 minutes for effectiveness against tuberculosis).
BARBICIDE® must be changed daily in all containers used to submerge combs, brushes, shears, implements—that is all tubs, glass or plastic jars. It should also be changed whenever contaminated or diluted incorrectly.
There is no expiration date for BARBICIDE® and because it is in a closed container where nothing is being immersed (reducing risk of contamination), it does not need to be changed.
